THE MAGICKAL & HEALING PROPERTIES OF MOLDAVITE
Moldavite is a favorite stone of mine because of it’s intense, “out of this world” energy! Moldavite is a tektite which means it was created from impact when a meteor struck Earth. The heat of the meteor impact melted surrounding rocks, dirt and sand creating a “strew field” of moldavite tektites that extends for miles. Moldavite is only found in parts of the Czech Republic, Germany and Moldavia making it a rare stone that will eventually become extinct. Tektites such as moldavite and libyan desert glass are NOT meteorites! You will frequently see them mislabeled as such in stores.
Upon holding moldavite, many people will report feeling an intense surge of energy! You can often feel tingling sensations or a subtle vibration in your hand when holding a moldavite. It’s common to feel fluttering in the chest, to have a hot flash, feel nausea, dizziness or to feel “spaced-out” when first holding/wearing a moldavite. These effects can last anywhere from minutes to days and it’s just your body adjusting to moldavite’s frequency. I suggest after you buy a piece of moldavite, you spend some time with it to see how it’s energy effects you. It will often take time for your body to become acclimated to the intense energy of a tektite. Most people become acclimated to moldavite (and no longer experience the weird effects) within 3-5 days.
Magickal Uses:
Moldavite is an excellent stone to use to assist in astral travel and in the communication with spirit guides. Moldavite also assists in past life regression and it can help you to see into the future. Intuitive abilities often become stronger when wearing/carrying moldavite so it’s an excellent stone to work with if you are looking to develop your psychic abilities.
Moldavite and other tektites are not psychically protective. Moldavite can actually amplify your energy/feelings and the energy/feelings of those around you. Again, it’s very important to see how moldavite effects you before you wear or carry it on a daily basis. It’s often best to carry or wear black tourmaline, jet or smoky quartz with moldavite to help stay grounded & psychically protected until you are acclimated to moldavite’s intense energy.
Use caution when incorporating moldavite in magickal workings because it will assist in manifesting your intent/thoughts very quickly. Make sure your mind is clear and your intent is focused during magickal workings to avoid any problems when you work with moldavite.
Healing Properties
The fluttering most people feel in their chest while holding moldavite happens because moldavite helps to stimulate and open the heart & thymus (spiritual heart) chakras. When kept close to the body, moldavite will also begin to remove energy blockages in all of the chakras. If you have had trouble opening your heart chakra and releasing bottled-up emotions, moldavite is the stone for you! Moldavite also helps you to develop unconditional love for yourself and others. Because moldavite can amplify thoughts and make emotions more intense, it’s best to use moldavite for healing purposes only when you are already healthy and fairly balanced. Moldavite is more a stone of activation and transformation than of healing.
Moldavite also resonates well with the crown chakra and it helps to accelerate spiritual growth. While wearing or holding moldavite, solutions to problems will become clear. It’s not uncommon to have an epiphany or two while working with moldavite! If you struggle with finding your purpose in this life, I recommend carrying or wearing a moldavite as it helps you to “remember” why you are here. Moldavite will often bring repressed emotions bubbling to the surface so that they can be either acknowledged, integrated or released. This helps to facilitate emotional healing and spiritual growth.

Maevemoonstar, I’m hijacking your wonderful photo from The Witches’ Almanac, because it inspired a rambling line of thought for me.

I always felt that Samhain was just the beginning of a time between the old year and the new year… and that the veil remains thin until the Sun is reborn at the Winter Solstice.  This calendar seems to reflect that, since following Samhain Eve, you have the Christian Hallowmas, a day when the Ancestors speak to us, a day to look over old photographs and remember.

On the 6th, darkness truly begins for those of us who live in a time zone that observes daylight savings. The 9th, visit a cemetary… and perhaps buy some cemetary dirt?

On the full moon, dubbed the Snow Moon, I have no doubt it will be cold and quiet and that there will be little to interfere in any magical endeavor that you choose to pursue. I don’t think there will be snow where I live, but I’ll bet the mountains to the west of me will be capped with white.

I will most certainly bake a pie on the 15th… I’m thinking pumpkin.  Does it strike anyone strange that we carve skeletal faces on Halloween into the same food that we will bake into a pie come Thanksgiving? Perhaps it’s a bit macabre of me, but it’s almost like a symbolic devouring of our ancestors. And in a way, we do… every day. Any food that you eat is built of the same material as stars that went supernova, dinosaurs, plants, animals, defecation, and people, all absorbed into the soil of the Earth in which we grow our food from. There really are no vegans when you think about it. We all thrive on Death.

There’s that show Paranormal State on TV, and no matter if it’s faked, they stumble over solid occult knowledge (mostly due to the presence of Michelle Bellanger, the only real occultist among them, other than Elfie, who the rest barely listen to because they’re too busy preening for the camera or polishing their massive egos). Well, the show has a “dead time” which falls between midnight and 3 a.m.  This is because it’s a threshold time, belonging neither to the day before or the day after. It also helps that many people are asleep during this time. You can feel a charge in the air if you’re a witch or a psychic during “dead time”. You can feel that same charge as Samhain approaches, and that charge continues through November, and begins to wane at the beginning of December as the Solstice approaches. This is why I dislike the fact that Christmas crap is already out before Black Friday these days… the commercial fucks can’t wait to shove their useless miscellany in your face and their message of BUY BUY BUY.

Hecate, who governs the crossroads knows about threshold times.  It is fitting that her night fall into the great dead time of the year. The Samhain season is a quiet time, or should be. I will withdraw from the mundane world and bask in the magic of the threshold. And I will taste a chocolate.

Incidentally, that bit about bloodstone is fabulous. I’m going to try carrying a charged bloodstone and see if I am given whatever I ask for. It will be an interesting experiment.

The Rule of Three Answered a Question

hello love!
so I've been fiddling around with the idea of creating a zine based on the wiccan religion. I wanted to know if you were interested in this and would like to be a writer for such a zine.
blessed be,

The Rule of Three Answered a Question

This is more asking for advice than anything... I may have to perform a binding spell and a protection spell at the same time/closely together, within the next two weeks. I'm Wiccan, but there is a bookstore at an Anglican Church that I am seeking to protect, since the church itself turned against it and wants to shut it down just to exclude english-speaking people from the community.
Them wanting to shut it down has affected most of my family and old friends greatly, since not only christians go there, the bookstore offers many other religious writings and non-religious ones, too, and it is a great place for children and meeting really nice people of all kinds.
The new priest has thrown out the girlscouts and the boyscouts and now wants to do the same to the bookstore. He is destroying the church, tearing apart the community and using people's money and church area for his own gain. Even being of a different religion, I want to try and help these people and this place to stay as it is, this man has hurt a lot of people within the church itself, too.
I was wondering if it's okay for me to bind him, and if there's a spell I can use from home to protect the bookstore? Something simple. Or not even a spell, I can write those, but I need to know ingredients and things I could use, or even just your input on the situation...
